IT HAPPENS EVERY YEAR, but we never lose our sense of wonder at the Florida RV SuperShow. What will be new? What will we find? What will we see that blows our minds? Well, this year was no different. Turn the page, and we’ll show you all of the impressive new models, floorplans, features, and toys that turned our heads in Tampa.
Jayco Volare Takes Flight
Jayco is one of the big boys in the RV world, but the Jay Feather Volare is clear evidence that Jayco isn’t settling anytime soon. The Volare’s distinctive geometry—let’s call it a rounded rhombus instantly grabs the eye. The lightweight travel trailer has Jayco’s new Rock Solid stabilizer jacks and is fully integrated with the voice-activated JAYCOMMAND Smart RV System.
Fleetwood Pioneers Class A Floorplan
Let’s put this into perspective: Having a dedicated bunkroom in the cabin for the kids is something that we’ve seen before—on fifth wheels. But the Fleetwood Fortis 36Y is the first time we’ve ever seen it done on Class A. They call it the Kid Kave … but we’re thinking about calling it the Sanity Saver. Whatever you call it, it’s awesome—especially the fact that Fleetwood tucked a washer under the bunk.
Coach House Goes Platinum!
The Platinum IV is on the leading edge of an awesome new trend: the one-piece fiberglass body. Not only is the unity of design beautiful. Not only is it aerodynamic. It’s highly functional. The one-piece shell makes the Platinum IV stronger, quieter, safer, and tighter. Translation: Fewer leaks, breaks, and rattles. And less trouble is more fun.
East To West Breaks New Ground
The Della Terra is an East To West classic, but the new LE 175BH is an attractive downsize, in both weight and price. Even so, it’s not light on features. It has a double-over-double bunkbed floorplan with a Murphy bed up front, a dinette opposite the galley, a three-piece bathroom, passthrough storage, and a 14-foot awning.
Magne Shade Extends to Awnings
We love a wow moment. Magne Shade continues to lead the field in making RV life cooler (shielding you from 70 percent of the sun’s UV rays)—but this time with their Magne Screen Awning Drop. As always, powerful magnets make setup easy. But the real magic is that if your awning automatically retracts, the Magne Screen simply separates. That’s one cool patio setup.
Dometic Gets Even Cooler (and Quieter)
Those who are in the know have been waiting for this for a long time. Dometic’s brand new FreshJet 3 Series rooftop air conditioner cranks down the cool (13 percent), turns up the airflow (15 percent), and does it … quietly (down as much as 4 decibels). With options between 13,500 and 15,000 BTU, you can be as cool as you want, without the volume.
SoCo Swings the Perfect Hangout
How refreshing it is to have someone (finally) recognize that we don’t all hammock the same. SoCo Swings let you choose exactly how you wanna swing—from hammocks and air chairs to gravity rockers and low-country loungers.
The Kracken Is Released!
Electric bikes are all the rage, but we haven’t seen one that quite does this—transform! Kracken Adventure Bikes fold up easily in 10 seconds, drastically reducing the space it takes up in storage. And with heavy tires, you can even take it off-road on your big overlanding trip.
